Justice Anoop Kumar Dhand directed Rajasthan chief secretary to formulate an action plan to protect citizens from severe heatwave conditions. Additionally, district collectors were asked to provide reports on their compliance with previous directives, including the establishment of cooling centres, traffic signal shades, and medical facilities for heat-related ailments.
The new electro-fluidic device — a system that manipulates fluids using electric fields to gain better precision of fluid movement and enable lab-on-chip devices — was tested in collaboration with St John's Medical College Hospital in Bengaluru.
The DC stressed the importance of prominently displaying service rate lists, citizen charters, and contact details of grievance officers at the registration counters of all clinical establishments, including clinics and nursing homes. Non-compliance with these directives may attract penalties.
In 2024, there were 38 cases and eight deaths, while in 2025, there were 12 cases and five deaths. Timely diagnosis and treatment at the onset saved most of the patients, she said.
She also disclosed plans for establishing 1,139 Arogya Mandirs across Delhi, with 14-15 centres allocated per assembly constituency. The CM made these announcements after meetings with cabinet ministers, public representatives, and department officials to accelerate the distribution of Ayushman Arogya Cards throughout Delhi.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Padma Shri awardee Prof. Balram Bhargava, former Director General of ICMR, in the presence of several eminent dignitaries, including Prof. Partha P. Majumder, National Science Chair, Government of India; Roger Highfield, Director of Science at SMG, London; Kunal Sarkar of Medica Superspecialty Hospital; Madhumita Roy from Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute; Debanjan Chakrabarti, Director of the British Council, East and Northeast India; and top officials from NCSM and Science City.
Underlining the need for early detection, the minister said in Punjab, the 2020-21 survey revealed a prevalence-notification ratio of 2.8:1, underscoring the critical need for enhanced screening efforts.
"The scheme ensures reimbursement for each OPD consultation under RGHS, while IPD cases receive compensation for actual expenses incurred, thereby creating a revenue stream for the hospitals. The funds generated will be utilised by the hospitals for improving their infrastructure and facilities," said a state govt official.

Saurabh Jain, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI, emphasised the timeliness and importance of focusing on genetics, describing it as the foundation of future medical progress.
Akshay Bafna, a cardiologist at CPR Hospital, said: "We are soon to get a new cath lab to perform the minimally invasive procedure to diagnose and treat heart conditions. Currently, we have 80-90 patients approaching for OPD consultation services in the department, and annually the patient count touches around 10,000. Last year, we carried out 1,600 minimally invasive surgeries."
